CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER (CRNP)
About the Clinic for Special Children: Since 1989, The Clinic for Special Children (CSC) has served as a comprehensive medical clinic for children and adults with genetic disorders. The majority of CSC patients are uninsured, live in agrarian settings, and are of Old Order Amish or Mennonite (Plain) ancestry. CSC cultivates special interest and expertise in genetic disorders of the Plain people and the provision of care to underserved populations. The Clinic is committed to providing innovative, culturally competent, personalized medical care across the lifespan, which requires close communication and collaboration among its clinical, laboratory, and research teams.
Position Summary: The CRNP provides care for medically complex children and adults including comprehensive patient evaluations, development and implementation of treatment plans, coordination of complex care, and patient/family education.
CSC is a low-volume, high-complexity clinic. The CRNP often sees fewer than 7 patients per day with the average patient visit lasting 1 hour. This position participates in 24/7 physician assisted, on-call rotation 1 week out of every 5 and rounds on inpatients at Penn Medicine-Lancaster General Hospital when on call.
Minimum Requirements to apply:
Nurse Practitioner:
- Current license as Certified Registered NP issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
- A minimum of 1 year experience providing direct patient care as a nurse and/or NP
