JOB DESCRIPTION – PARALEGAL
Our client is a developer of affordable housing in California
and Oregon, and is engaged in the acquisition, entitlement, development and operation of affordable
multi‐family housing projects. Our client is an affiliate of one of the largest real estate developers in the
US.
The Paralegal will report to the General Counsel and will assist the General Counsel in preparing basic
legal documentation, including various real estate documents, including without limitation purchase and
sale agreements, easements, license agreements, consulting contracts and amendments thereto, loan
agreements, construction contracts and notices of completion, and property management agreements.
The Paralegal will assist project staff in conducting due diligence on target properties, including review
of title and escrow communications, and will prepare critical date checklists for key dates in purchase
agreements.
The position is also responsible for entity formation and maintenance, as the company forms California
special purpose entities to participate in each of its transactions as a general partner. The Paralegal will
be responsible for coordinating various entity searches required during loan closings. A basic knowledge
of corporate governance is desirable.
The Paralegal will assist the General Counsel in tracking litigation matters and response dates and will
maintain project files.
The candidate must have a valid Paralegal Certificate, excellent writing and communication skills and the
ability to interface with a diverse and collegial project staff and management. A minimum of three to
five years of experience, preferably in the real estate sector, is required.
