Job Description
This position allows for diversity in responsibility, strategic initiative, strong organization skills and opportunity to help strengthen the presence and brand of establish company. Identifies and helps to develop strategic relationships with potential partners and customers with managing contracts. Assists in the development of a strong pipeline of new customers and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting. Works with the Office of the CEO and Contract and Programs Business Unit to market, close sales, and implement business development initiatives. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
Business Development
• Generate new client leads from government agencies through prospecting and marketing efforts• Identify and helps to develop strategic relationships with partners or potential customers
• Assist in developing a strong pipeline of new customers and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting
• Provide direct sales and business development on new government projects and accounts
• Work with marketing, sales, and service development team members to implement business development initiatives
• Work with Executives to help expand our Market share in the Federal Government space.
• Track and monitor project activity, providing client feedback and issue resolution to foster positive relationships with clients
• Locate and propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners and exploring new opportunities
• Identify and attend networking events and conferences to develop relationships
Project Management of Contracts
• Direct responsibility for the delivery or goods and services in accordance with the terms and conditions of government contracts.
• Serve as primary point of contact customer (US government for DOD contractor) for all technical matters pertaining to a contract when our company is a prime or subcontractor.
• Serve as leader for all staff on a task order, mentor employees, proactively identify possible problem areas, set and communicate project priorities and manage project deadlines. • Ensure timely delivery of high quality work products and services.
• Ensure sound financial systems and standards are followed and that accounting practices allow for accurate and timely reporting, budget control and financial management.
• Serves as leader, coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members and with project stakeholders.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, directing, and staffing the technical, administrative, financial, contractual and personnel actions required of the federal program of the company.
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of three-five years business development and project manager or equivalent military experience.
• Must have a current/active TS eligible for /SCI
• Served as a military officer in US military
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically /conceptually in the context of DoD acquisition, including familiarity DoD cultural, management, systems and policies.
• Demonstrated experience communicating with senior management/leadership, including presenting white papers, recommendations, and company capabilities.
• Must have strong knowledge of U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulation and be familiar with common program budget types (e.g. cost plus, fixed price, time & materials, etc.)
Additional information:This position primarily consists of working in and outdoors in an office or government environment. The employee may be required to: sit, walk, or stand for extended periods, talk and hear with the ability to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information, to use the hands and fingers to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, or position, and see to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess. Ability to lift fifty pounds.
