Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft and file legal documents, including entries of appearance and court submissions, across both state and federal courts
• Conduct legal research related to civil rights, employment discrimination, personal injury, and medical malpractice
• Organize and maintain digital case files using SmartAdvocate
• Prepare hearing materials, including exhibits and supporting documentation
• Assist with transitioning and organizing case files into SmartAdvocate
• Utilize ECF PACER for federal court filings and LexisNexis File & Serve for state court filings
• Communicate effectively via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and within the SmartAdvocate platform
• Provide reliable support in the lead-up to hearings, including calendaring, checklist management, and briefing preparation
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all communications and case handling
Must-Have Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience, preferably in U.S. civil rights or personal injury litigation
• Demonstrated expertise in using ECF PACER and LexisNexis File & Serve Express • Strong legal research and writing skills
• Familiarity with federal and state court procedures
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage case documentation with precision
• Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely with minimal supervision • Strong command of written and spoken English.
Good-to-Have Qualifications:
• Prior experience with SmartAdvocate; training available through the software provider
• Experience in preparing for client hearings and handling discovery
