Job Description
The Litigation Paralegal will handle a substantial number of tasks, from the first contact with the client through resolution, including client intake, handling no-fault issues in matters involving motor vehicle accidents. Will have regular client communication (phone, email, in person, etc.); submission of medical record requests and comprehensive analysis of medical records; calendar management and scheduling (court appearances, depositions, meetings, etc.); filing in both state (NYSCEF) and federal (PACER/ECF) courts, and service; preparation of litigation documents, including pleadings, bills of particulars, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, etc.; preparation of settlement packages; assist with preparation of trial documents and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of plaintiff personal injury experience, bilingual Spanish preferred, Bachelors, Associate’s degree or paralegal certificate is a plus
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm
- Must have good and decisive judgment
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with SmartAdvocate is preferred and knowledge of Lead Docket is a plus
