Job Description

Education/Experience:

  • Requires 3-5 years of clinical/OR experience in an acute health care setting.
  • Must be a graduate of an AAPA-accredited school with current licensure to practice in the state of Ohio (and Kentucky if the job duties require).
  • Active authority to prescribe required

Essential Functions:

  • Help develop and maintain a corporate culture that supports the mission and values of Mayfield Clinic.
  • Meet post-operative and non-operative medical management patients in the office and assess their condition; establish and maintain treatment plans; dictate chart notes.

  • Act as a liaison between physician and patient by providing the patient with instruction from the physician, advising the physician of the patient�s needs, and assuring that the physician is available to the patient whenever necessary, in person or by telephone.

  • Serve as first assistant in surgery when indicated.

  • Document all patient interactions promptly and thoroughly into the patient�s medical record. Maintain the internal order and arrangement of the patient’s medical record, including a record of phone calls, changes in prescriptions, etc.

  • Perform clinical rounds on inpatients and collaborate with the appropriate medical staff to meet patient needs. Take call as requested.
