Ability to withstand winter and summer climates, maneuvering to several buildings and work areas throughout the day, and to be able to lift 35 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: At least five years of related work experience (e.g., assistance with safety program development). At least one year of direct work on database systems for safety management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: This is a program management classification requiring independent judgment in interpreting and applying workplace safety regulations and safety management system principles. The incumbent oversees day-to-day activities and is responsible for providing effective, professional support to UMD’s ESSR Department. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both verbally and in written form; Interpersonal relationship building. Organizing, scheduling and conducting safety and health inspections. Ability to prioritize work and objectives and make independent judgments. Will occasionally be required to work off-hours and be subject to on-call capacity to respond to and investigate incidents occurring at the university or affecting university personnel.
