Job Description

Leads and directs multiple global, divisional or departmental IT Actuarial Solutions projects through the project lifecycle. Drives business requirements, technical specifications and non-functional requirements of reporting, actuarial and analytical environments. Develops project charters and related project management work products, ensures that projects meet customer requirements and corporate strategies. Manages projects within the constraints of time, cost, scope and quality.

Manages large and/or complex projects through the project lifecycle, including developing charters, plans, schedules, and budgets; driving requirements, allocating resources; monitoring performance against schedule, budget, and quality targets; managing changes, issues and risks; and providing regular communication to program management and other areas within the organization.

Establishes and maintains effective communication with other project managers, crossfunctional project teams, and internal/ external customers in order to identify key plan tasks and due dates.

Provides guidance in the application toolset required to code, test and troubleshoot applications for new development and on-going support, and direct the activities of all technical resources on the project.

Ensures business partners’ expectations are met, gain understanding when desired outcomes are not feasible and provide alternative solutions to meet objective(s).

Conducts feasibility studies and perform cost/benefit analysis for IT projects.

Establishes and maintains best practices and consistent project management policies and guidelines in line with IT project management methodologies.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

2+ years Business Intelligence project management experience Agile methodology experience

Preferred:

PMP Certification

ITIL Certification

Master’s degree

Scrum Master

Required:

Advanced project management skills with an understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope for feasibility, understanding, scheduling, and ensure projects meet budget and plan criteria.

Highly advanced level of people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility

Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions

Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received

Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skill

Ability to work well within a team environment, participate in department/team projects and balance detail with departmental objective

Advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously

Advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines

Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions

Advanced level of skills in customer relationship management and change management Ability to resolve conflict and foster teamwork

Broad business knowledge

Advanced persuasion and negotiating skills when working with internal/external customers

MS Team Foundation Server (TFS) Preferred:

Proficient in application development process/methodologies and possess the ability to disseminate them to a team.

Knowledge of Reinsurance or Financial Services business domain.
